Woodland Wonderland

Who doesn’t love a stemless wine glass? Whether you drink wine or not, you’ll want to stock up on a few for this rustic holiday craft. And, since you can get the glasses at the dollar store, it’s inexpensive to create several of these woodland wonderland snow globes.

Here's what you'll need...
Stemless Wine Glasses
Round Wood Slices
Snow-Tex
Bottle Brush Trees
Miniature Deer
Miniature Pine Cones
Plastic Knife
Wire Cutters

Use a plastic knife to spread Snow-Tex onto the round wood slice. Once the wood is covered, use the flat side of the knife to gently press onto the Snow-Tex to create a fresh snow texture.
Remove the wooden base from the bottle brush trees using wire cutters. Press a tree and deer into the snow.

Place a stemless wine glass over the tree and deer and press into the snow to create a snow globe. As the Snow-Tex dries it will act as a glue to hold the trees, deer, and glasses in place.

Finish by adding a little of the Snow-Tex to the top of the snow globe and add miniature pine cones to the snow.

Halloween "NO SNOW" Globe

It may be snowing in other parts of the world at Halloween, but here in Georgia it can sometimes still feel like Summer.
So, I created a no snow globe that is a super cute addition to my Halloween decor.

I found some small candy corn bottle brush trees and a creepy little witch at Michael's and placed them on a round wood slice...

Before I glued them down, I made sure that a stemless wine glass would fit over them...

Once the trees and witch were lined up to fit under the glass, I glued them to the wood. I also added some moss.

Cute! And, since the glass came from the Dollar Tree, and the trees and witch were 40% off, this was an inexpensive project.

I chose not to glue the glass down so I can still use it once this witch heads up to the attic.

Walking In A Winter Wonderland

I've seen so many posts from other bloggers, over the last couple of weeks, of beautiful snow scenes. We rarely get snow in my part of Georgia. We had temperatures in the 70's on Thanksgiving and spent the day in t-shirts sitting by the pool! So, this project is probably the closest I'll get to seeing snow at Christmas.

It started with one of the mini baking pans I bought over a year ago at a yard sale...

You may remember the Christmas ornaments I made with them last year. You can find that post HERE.

I started by filling the pan with Swamp Mud from The Dixie Belle Paint Company.
Swamp Mud is most commonly used to fill holes and repair furniture. It is also used with stencils to create 3 dimensional designs.
While the mud was still wet, I inserted a cute little vintage looking deer and bottle brush trees.
The mud acted as glue to hold the deer and trees in place.

I'll definitely see more "mud" at Christmas than snow. But it's ok... I prefer to see snow in pictures rather than in my yard! For those of you who love the snow...enjoy, and keep those pictures coming!

Mini Bundt Pan Christmas Ornaments

I have a stash of mini baking pans and I've been having fun using them to make Christmas ornaments.
For the project I'm sharing today, I used mini bundt pans and added Snow Tex to create snow...

While the Snow Tex was still wet, I inserted a little deer...

Then I added a small bottle brush tree behind the deer...
The Snow Tex will dry overnight and hold the deer and tree in place.

To hang the ornament, I used bakers twine...

For one ornament, I used a tree only...

It doesn't get any easier than that!
Well, buying pre-made ornaments is easier, but way less fun!

DIY Sign: The Kids Table

Who remembers sitting at the kid's table?
Even as an adult, I think a lot of us would prefer sitting at the kid's table!
This DIY sign will add a fun, festive touch to your Christmas dinner.

I started by painting a block of wood that a friend gave me with the color Barn Red from The Dixie Belle Paint Company. I used a white paint pen to write, The Kid's Table. I also went over the letters with white paint just to get a good coverage. Then I added a few white polka dots.

I put Snow Tex along the top of the sign and while it was wet, I inserted trees and a sled that I got at Michael's.

Yep! The kid's table is the place to be!!!
