"Bee Mine" Valentine

I wish I could say that using a picture of a bee along with the word, "mine" was my original idea. But, that is not the case. I've seen lots of things for Valentine's Day that use that combination.
So, when I saw this pack of canvas stickers...
I thought one of the bees would be perfect for this red bottle...

I put one of the bee stickers onto the bottle...

Then, I printed out the word, "Mine" on printer fabric.
I did several versions to get the right color.
I cut out the one that had the best color match using pinking shears.

The printer fabric has a backing on it that you would normally peel off but I left it on. I coated it with ModPodge and placed it on the bottle underneath the bee...

I wrapped the neck of the bottle with jute...
And, finished it off with a bow.

Easy Valentine Pendant

This has got to be one of the easiest pendants I've ever made!
Simply use a paper punch to cut out a heart using any patterned paper and glue the heart (I used a glue stick) to a solid piece of paper that is cut to the size of a cabochon. Attach the circle to the back of the cabochon with an adhesive and then seal the back (I used Diamond Glaze for both of these steps). Add a bail to the back and you're done!
This project is super easy and takes no time at all!

Paper Hearts and Burlap

Last year I invited a few friends over to make Valentine banners.
We simply cut pennants out of burlap and stapled the top of the burlap over a long piece of yarn. I had everyone measure the width of their mantel before they came so we would know how long to cut the yarn.
Using my Cricut, we cut out solid red paper hearts. We then cut out slightly smaller hearts in a patterned paper and glued them on to the red hearts. We glued the hearts to the center of the pennants.
We cut a strip of the patterned paper to cover the staples at the top of the burlap and glued it on.
Half way between each pennant we added "pom poms" made from the red and patterned paper. We cut 6 circles out using the Cricut, folded them in half, and then glued them together around the yarn.

We took some of the left over burlap and wrapped it around a mason jar. We glued more of our hearts to the burlap and then wrapped the jar in baker's twine.
I loved this banner so much I think I left it up for a month after Valentines Day!!!

Measuring Up

While feeding my Pinterest addiction, I came across a website that I love called One Lucky Day.
They recently showed how to make a beautiful necklace using wooden discs that they dyed and stamped. Go HERE to see what they did. I liked the idea of stamping the discs and it got my wheels turning. Rather than using the discs for jewelry, I went in another direction...

I used the discs as embellishments for a photo display.

One Lucky Day used dye to color their discs but I just used paint and applied it with a damp paper towel. I used 3 colors...blue, teal, & yellow.

I stamped each of the discs...

Using a Burnt Umber acrylic paint, I antiqued the discs using a damp paper towel...

Using the same Burnt Umber paint, I darkened small clothespins to match the color of an old yardstick...

I glued the discs onto the clothespins and once that was dry I glued the clothespins onto the yardstick...

Since the yardstick was not thick enough to accommodate screws, I glued the hooks onto the back. This is the first time that I used Zap-A-Gap glue, but my son who is an architecture student and has to build a lot of things, assured me that it will hold anything! He warned me not to get it on my fingers or I would be stuck forever!!!

Just add pictures and this makes a unique way to display your photos...

This would also work in an office as a way to display notes or business cards!
I think it measures up quite nicely!
