Why do people throw furniture out on the side of the road? Not only are they littering, but there may be someone who could really use it. So why not donate it?
Maybe they know there are people like me who will stop & pick it up. I have also passed that habit on to my daughter. So, when she spotted this piece on the side of the road, she pulled the car over and we loaded it up!
I had been looking for the perfect piece to use the French Ceramics II transfer from Re*design With Prima on and knew that this was it.
I painted the cabinet with the color, Fluff, from The Dixie Belle Paint Company and added the transfer to the drawer and door fronts.
I found the perfect knobs at Hobby Lobby to replace the original ones.
I wonder... if I set this piece out on the road in the spot where it was discarded, would the people who threw it out stop and pick it up! We'll never know because I would never do that.
Instead, it will go to a new home where it will be loved and appreciated.
A true trash to treasure!

Lovely transformation! I rather like it when people leave things on the sidewalk for free. I've planned my route home based on when certain neighborhoods have trash day. I like to think I'm doing them a favor. :)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty....I will admit that I have grabbed a few treasures from the side of the road, too!!
ReplyDeleteThat piece is beautiful! What great imagination you have to think to transform it that way! I'll have to look for pretty transfers, and try to fix up and old cabinet!
