Patriotic IKEA Lantern Makeover

If you are a regular visitor here, then this is not, nor will it be the last project where you have seen me craft with paper napkins.
ModPodge + Patterned Paper Napkins =
A Perfect Marriage!
Nothing is safe...I'll decoupage a napkin onto just about anything.
Like these jars...
My upcycled pickle and olives jars remain one of my top 2 most viewed and most pinned posts.

Another popular DIY project with napkins...
coasters...

I've even decoupaged napkins onto a chair...

More recently, I shared a variety of
4th of July projects using napkins...

You can find quite a few more when you search my blog,
but let's move on to lanterns.
Last year I shared how I made over an IKEA lantern for Fall using paper napkins...
You can get the full tutorial HERE.

Since I happened to have more IKEA lanterns,
and more napkins from my 4th of July craft frenzy,
I decided to make a Patriotic lantern.

I painted the lantern with Barn Red from
The Dixie Belle Paint Company...

Using the same technique for the Fall lanterns,
I added a blue and white napkin to the glass...
It appears a little milky in this picture but the ModPodge will dry clear.

Perfect for the 4th of July!

It goes great with my 4th of July mantel...
This one might have to stay out through Labor Day!
