I buy things all the time (that I don't need) knowing I can use them to eventually create something. Hence, the piles of stuff in my laundry room, attic, and garage! So, when I found a stack of regular size and mini baking pans, of course I had to have them.
As I carried them from the yard sale to my car, and the small pans laid on top of the big pans, I immediately saw an owl.
But, it needed color! So, I painted the large pan with Dixie Belle paint in the color Florida Orange.
If you know me, you know that my favorite thing to decoupage crafts with is patterned paper napkins. I picked out this Fall napkin, separated the layers, & decoupaged the top layer to the center of the pan using ModPodge.
I painted the center portion of the small pans with Dixie Belle paint in the color Kudzu.
For the eyes, I glued wooden buttons from Michael's to the center of the small pans.
I also added a wood disc to the center of the button.
Then I glued the eyes onto the large pan.
Finally, Hooty got a brass acorn for a nose.
Hooty is cute & colorful!
And, he looks sweet tucked into my Fall wreath...
Hooty wants to know...
who else has piles of stuff they intend to do something fabulous with? It can't just be me!!!
And in case you missed it... here is what I did with some of the other small pans last year...
