Mixing It Up

Let me start this post with an apology for the horrible pictures. I took them with my phone thinking I was only going to Instagram the pictures. So, please excuse the quality!

Back to the project at hand...
This table was only $3.99 at the Salvation Army!
$3.99!!!
I didn't notice it at first because I was checking out a chair they had for $1.99. The chair had some major issues. But it was hard to pass up at $1.99. While I was debating on whether or not to get it, my husband said, "I think the table next to the chair is a better deal." Heck yeah! I didn't even see it!!! SOLD!

We just cleaned all the junk treasures out of the garage so I brought the table right inside when we got home so it wouldn't get lost in what will eventually turn into another abyss.
I had these 3 jars of homemade chalk paint...
None of which had enough to cover the table.
So, I mixed them all together.
What color will I get?
This color...
It mixed into a pretty icy blue color.

The color wasn't that important because I was painting the table to sell, not keep.
I love how the table turned out. It's a great color!
At $1.99 for the table and left over paint,
I should turn a pretty hefty profit on this table!

Well, maybe not...

the table wasn't even dry yet and my daughter says,
"Oooh, I love that table. It would go perfect in my dorm. And, I've been needing a bedside table. Can I have it?"

So, I did what any mother would do...
and sent the table off to college!

But, the moral of the story is,
don't throw your old paints away. Mix them together.
You might just mix up something beautiful!
