A Chair At Grandmother's

I was recently invited to a Grandmother's shower for my cousin, Beth. Beth's daughter, Lynley, is pregnant with her first child...
a baby girl!
I had never heard of having a shower for the grandmother, but what a great idea! Now Beth has everything she needs when the baby comes to visit. Lynley won't have to load her car down with tons of baby stuff to take to Grandma's.  Beth's gifts ranged from everything from booster seats to strollers to bottles!
I had no clue what to get for her. But, while in an antique store, I saw the cutest little chair...

I thought it would make a great gift. But, it needed some TLC.
I gave it a fresh coat of pale pink paint.
I added a paisley design using pale green, white & a little more of the pale pink.
And, I added the baby's name, Eryn, to the chair.

I would love to know what children have sat in this chair over the years.
It will be a while before Eryn can sit in the chair, but I hope it becomes a keepsake that will pass down to more generations in our family!

  1. What a lucky little girl! The chair is adorable.
I also painted a chair for a fundraiser called "Take a Seat". It must be a popular name for charities around the country.
And finally, I'm so jealous of the antique fair in your area. Great finds!!!
