The "PEAR"fect Chalkboard

Back in October, I wrote about all the great things I bought at the yard sales going on during The Cotton Pickin' Fair. You can read about that HERE.
One of the things I bought was this large frame...

It was marked $5, but everything had been marked down half price so I only paid $2.50 for it. It was brand new!!! It measures 30" x 40".
I painted the frame with Annie Sloan Old White...
At my local home improvement store, I had a board cut to fit the frame.
I painted the board with several coats of Chalkboard paint...
I followed the directions on the can and conditioned my chalkboard by rubbing the entire surface with chalk. Once I finished this process, I wiped off the chalk and added the board to the frame...
I distressed the frame...
And, then I painted pears with acrylic paint on the chalkboard...
"Pear"fect!

  14. I just wanted to come over and tell you what a beautiful story that was about your mom and dad. They were married for so many years! My dad passed away over 20 years ago, and my mom three years ago. Thank you for your story. You should do a post about it sometime with a big picture of a heart-shaped cloud. Have a good weekend.
