Easy DIY Halloween Cuff Bracelets

October will be here before you know it, and it will be time to add some fun Halloween jewelry to your wardrobe! These cuff bracelets are super easy and quick to make.

For the first cuff, I covered a 1 1/2 inch aluminum cuff blank with crafting tape that has a spider web design. I covered the inside of the cuff first.

The extra tape can be torn off easily. I pulled the tape toward the edge of the cuff to use as a cutter.

Any uneven edges will be covered in the next step.

I then covered the outside of the cuff and folded the tape around the edges.
Any loose pieces that don't stick on the inside may be glued down.

I then added a stripe at each end of the cuff using a chevron design 1/2 inch wide crafting tape.

I found this really cute charm at Michael's. I cut the loop off of the top and used E6000 to glue the charm to the cuff.

That was so easy, let's make more!!!
For my second cuff, I used the same technique, except I ran the chevron tape down the length of the cuff.
Aren't these 3D stickers cute?
I decided to use the silver glitter one and just peeled off the back and stuck the skull to the cuff.

Ok, one more...
This one is made using a bottle cap, a digital download, and a glass cabochon. I used Diamond Glaze to add the picture to the cabochon, and then glued it into the bottle cap. I glued the bottle cap onto the cuff using E6000.

This would make a great craft for a kids Halloween party. Or, something fun to make as gifts for your friends for October!

The Painted Pumpkin Chair

As I have shared before, I am a vendor at
in downtown Fayetteville, GA.
Earth Mama's is located in a beautiful, old
house that was built in 1916.
When you walk through the door, you enter a room that we keep decorated for the different seasons.
So, during the summer, this chair that my daughter, my friend, Cindy, and I recovered, was perfect for the front room...
But, now it's time to decorate for Fall!
My friend, Cindy, who also happens to be
the owner of Earth Mama's, had this chair
that she wanted to recover and put in the front room...
I asked her if it would be okay for me to paint the chair for Fall rather than recover it. We can always recover it after pumpkin season. She agreed, so I started by painting over the blue fabric with a black acrylic paint. I dipped my brush in water, then in the paint to make it go on easier and not be so stiff.

I let the paint dry overnight, then drew out my design on the chair with chalk...
Then, using more acrylic paint,
I painted white pumpkins on the chair...

The painted pumpkin chair is the perfect addition to the Fall themed room at Earth Mama's General Store...
For Christmas, maybe I can turn those pumpkins into ornaments!

In case you missed it,
here is a chair that my daughter, Carrie, painted...
You can learn more about it here.

Would you be bold enough to paint a chair?
Give it a try! It's fun!!!

What The Kids Are Creating

I have shared many projects that my kids have created over the last couple of years. I have said over and over that they need their own blog! But, since that doesn't seem likely (anytime soon anyway), I'll just keep posting some of the things they create here on my own blog.

They aren't exactly kids. John is 23 and is a recent college graduate with a degree in architecture. Carrie will be 21 this month and is a Junior in college, majoring in fashion. They're a good combination of my husband and me. They were fortunate enough to get the math gene from their dad (something I never got)!!! And, they're creative!

Today I'm sharing one of Carrie's latest projects.

We've all seen old rakes used to hang jewelry. Carrie took it a step further and added a little whimsy. She tore pieces of scrapbook paper and used ModPodge to adhere them to the handle.

Some of the prongs were so bent that the necklaces slid off, so she used E6000 and glued on some half pearls. She found these in the scrapbook section of the craft store.
It added a little extra crafty touch and
 keeps the jewelry in place.

It looks great hanging in her bathroom!

Carrie has been busy changing her bedroom and bathroom. I'll be sharing lots more soon. For now, here's a look back at a mural she painted while I was out of town. It seems every time I go out of town without her, something major happens in her room!
