One of my husband's hobbies is brewing hard apple cider. So, when Father's Day rolled around (yes, this post is a little overdue), the kids and I had the perfect gift.
I had bought an antique radio at a garage sale and was waiting for the perfect project. The guts were missing. It was just a shell, so don't get mad at me for destroying an old radio! It was destined for the dump, so we brought it back to life. Literally... now it's the life of the party!
My son drilled a hole in the top of the radio cabinet and we added a tap that I bought at a brew store...
We added a piece of metal to cover the empty hole where the radio once was...
When we have a party, we place a cooler filled with ice inside the cabinet, and place a keg in the cooler.
It's a fun and functional piece of history!
I'd like to imagine that long ago, this radio played beautiful music during many a party, where friends sipped on cider or other yummy spirits!
