The Lucky Penny

My most recent post as a contributor over at
While He Was Napping
was an easy DIY pendant,
perfect for St.Patrick's Day.
Just in case you missed it, here it is...

Find a penny,
pick it up,
all day long you'll have good luck!

There has been talk of doing away with the penny altogether. If that happens, it really will be lucky to find one!
Another symbol of good luck is the 4 leaf clover.
And with St. Patrick's Day just around the corner,
this project combines both symbols to double your luck!

Here's what you'll need to create this
Lucky Penny Necklace...

A Penny
A Shamrock Charm
Tin Snips
Green Acrylic Paint
Paint Brush
E6000 Glue
Glossy Accents (Dimensional Embellishment)
Jewelry Bail

This 4 leaf clover charm was the perfect size to fit on a penny...
Use tin snips to cut off the loop on the top of the charm,
then paint the clover with green acrylic paint.

Allow to dry, then using E6000,
glue the charm onto the penny.

Cover with Glossy Accents...
This will go on milky but will dry clear...

Allow to fully dry overnight.
Glue a jewelry bail onto the back using E6000...
and, your Lucky Penny is complete...

Do you pick up a penny when you see one,
or do you pass it over?

  1. Well, I'm sure not going to pass over a penny now! That is really CUTE. I usually find pennies when I'm barefoot and step on one in our bedroom. Boy, is that cold!
