Last year I invited a few friends over to make Valentine banners.
We simply cut pennants out of burlap and stapled the top of the burlap over a long piece of yarn. I had everyone measure the width of their mantel before they came so we would know how long to cut the yarn.
Using my Cricut, we cut out solid red paper hearts. We then cut out slightly smaller hearts in a patterned paper and glued them on to the red hearts. We glued the hearts to the center of the pennants.
We cut a strip of the patterned paper to cover the staples at the top of the burlap and glued it on.
Half way between each pennant we added "pom poms" made from the red and patterned paper. We cut 6 circles out using the Cricut, folded them in half, and then glued them together around the yarn.
We took some of the left over burlap and wrapped it around a mason jar. We glued more of our hearts to the burlap and then wrapped the jar in baker's twine.
I loved this banner so much I think I left it up for a month after Valentines Day!!!

ReplyDeleteSo cute! I've never seen a Cricut in real life, but I see the name all over. I'll have to check it out next time I'm at Michaels or somewhere that might have one. Today a friend told me she had stopped at a certain paper store. I asked her if they were a chain. She said yes. I'd never heard of them. I need to get out more. lol
