I have found some pretty great pieces of furniture at estate sales lately. I've already shared this estate sale chair that I painted and reupholstered...
I also shared this estate sale find... an antique chest of drawers that I painted with milk paint...
So, while I'm at it, I'd like to share this needlepoint chair from an estate sale...
Back in my early teens, I loved to do needlepoint. But, I don't think I would have had the heart to let anyone sit on mine! There is so much time and patience that goes into needlepoint. It's a beautiful art form and I wish it would come back into popularity.
I have actually started filling up a small wall in my house from floor to ceiling with framed needlepoint. I hope to share that soon.
So, back to the chair.
She was a perfectly lovely chair.
The seat was in great shape.
The wood was in good condition.
She just seemed tired!
She just needed a little something.
And the something I chose was milk paint.
The color...Bayberry...
It's no secret that I love the chippy finish of milk paint.
A little color was just what the paint doctor ordered!
She no longer looks tired, she looks...
HAPPY!
Here is another small table that I bought at an estate sale. I painted it with milk paint in one of my favorite colors, pumpkin.
Are you an estate sale shopper?
If so, what's you best purchase?

Great color choice for the chair! The contrast of the green against the burgundy needlepoint is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love needlepoint, too! Can't wait to see that wall art. The color choice is just perfect.

I've done a number of large cross stitch projects over the years, but no real needlepoint. Love what you did to the chair! I think the green color is very peaceful.

Your chair looks so much better with that pop of color.

You make beautiful color choices.
ReplyDeleteStunning chair! Love the table too.. Have a good weekend! V
ReplyDeleteLove the green milk paint with the needlepoint. I have tried needlepoint but was not patient enough. I always go for small tables and old linens at estate sales. And of course, rusty, crusty, dusty stuff! Can't wait to see the wall you are creating with needlepoint.
ReplyDeleteLove that you frequent estate sales and find so many potential treasures. I love that antique set of drawers to painted/distressed white! Really nice. Visiting you via "FancyThisFridays" linkup.
ReplyDeleteThe bayberry paint makes such a big difference and now that beautiful needlepoint really pops! So glad you didn't cover it up :)
ReplyDeleteThe paint color perfectly sets off the needlepoint seat. Featuring when my link party opens up tonight!
ReplyDeleteLove the color! Thanks for sharing with us at Your Designs This Time!
