DIIY Custom Door Mat

Welcome friends and family to your home by creating a personalized door mat that is uniquely your style. This do it yourself project will add a warm and inviting touch to your entryway with just a few easy steps.

Supplies:
Blank Door Mat
Painters Tape
Dixie Belle Paint In Various Colors
Paintbrush
Chalk
Alphabet Stencil
Round Plate or Platter

Place painters tape across the mat to create stripes...

For this project I chose to use Dixie Belle Paint in the colors, Barn Red, Holy Guacamole, Chocolate, Terra Cotta, & Colonel Mustard.
Use a stiff paintbrush or stencil brush to paint in between the taped lines using a pouncing motion. When you have completed painting between the taped lines, remove the painters tape. Allow to dry.

Place a circular object, such as a plate or platter that is larger than the stencil, onto the center of the mat. Draw around it with chalk.

Fill in the chalk circle with paint and allow to dry.

Using a pouncing motion, stencil an initial onto the painted circle.

Place the mat at your front door and greet your guests with an artistic welcome.

This project is so easy that you'll want to make one for every season!

  1. How pretty! You did a great job on it, and make it look so easy. Love how you added the stenciling pattern in the B. Would make a great house warming gift.

  3. I did an ombre door mat with spray paint and tape once, but this looks a lot cleaner with just using paint. I just adore the pattern you used for the initial!
