This Is What Dreams Are Made Of

Or should I say,
"this is what's made from a dream?"

Do you remember your dreams?
I wonder why some dreams are so vivid and others are forgotten.

The other night, I was crafting in my sleep.
I woke with a clear vision of a jar.

So, of course, I had to try and recreate it.

I started with a plain jar and wrapped a piece of tape about a third of the way down from the top. Don't ask me why I did that. I put tape on it in my dream so I figured I should put tape on it awake.

Instead of covering the jar with ModPodge and then sprinkling it with glitter, I poured out some ModPodge and mixed glitter into it.

I coated the jar with the ModPodge/glitter mixture.

Then I peeled off the tape & set it aside to dry.

Awhile back I picked these wild violets that were in my yard.
I spread them out on wax paper and put them under my 16 pound dictionary to dry.

Once the jar was dry, I glued on 3 of the little violets.

I wrapped a piece of wire around the jar and attached another piece of wire to that piece so I can hang it.

I wrapped twine around the mouth of the bottle making sure I covered the first piece of wire.

It turned out just like the jar in my dream!

This next jar wasn't part of my dream, but I was on a roll...
For this one, I used a Mason jar.
I covered the entire jar with the ModPodge/glitter mixture leaving off the tape this time.
I used a metal punch to put 2 holes in the rim of the lid.
I threaded wire through the holes and twisted it inside the lid.

This didn't have to be very secure because I covered the inside rim with E6000 and then screwed it onto the jar.

I hope I have a crafty dream tonight!
Do you craft in your sleep?

  24. So cool! I want to have a crafting dream! Oh, and did you know they actually sell glitter Mod Podge? That would save you a step next time...although your glitter is chunkier, which I think looks better for this project anyway. Thanks for entering One Crafty Contest!
