Child's Chaise Lounge Makeover

When I saw this adorable child's chaise lounge chair at a junk store in Atlanta, I couldn't resist!
The cushion was in good shape, except for being terribly faded.
So, I got out my Dixie Belle paint and covered the cushion with the color, Drop Cloth...

Once the cushion was dry, I stenciled on a design using the colors Florida Orange and Peacock...

I finished it off with spray wax, also from Dixie Belle. Yes, you heard right...spray wax! Just spray and wipe. I love it because it doesn't leave a tacky feel. And, it can be used for indoor and outdoor projects.

Once again, this was one of those pieces I couldn't let go of. I don't have small children, but hopefully grandchildren will come along someday (no time soon, kids)! Or, maybe my dog will enjoy it!

  1. Did you say Spray Wax??? Need me some of that! I really like how you refurbished that faded cushion - very fresh and the colorful flowers are fabulous! Kids, grandchildren, dogs...why wait! Having a backyard pool and that comfy lounge chair, heck I'd be living in that spot with a fruity cocktail with a little umbrella and a good book all summer long!

  4. Oh yes, I agree, this was too good to not snap up and give a lovely makeover too. You never know when a small person will come and visit and need somewhere to sit!
