Mixed Media Canvas Frame

Lately, I have been in a mixed media frenzy. And my most recent obsession has been making frames using canvas.
I start with a 6" x 6" canvas. The chunkier (for lack of a better word) canvas is great because it can sit on a table or shelf, or it can be hung on the wall.

I cover the canvas using torn scrapbook paper.

I use ModPodge to adhere the paper to the canvas.

The sides of the canvas get covered too.

Once the canvas is dry, embellishments may be added to the canvas, like these fabric stickers...

I chose to use the sparrow for this one...

For attaching pictures or notes, I added a clothespin. I love these with the fun pattern. Plus they have a nice resin top.

I glued the clothespin on using E6000.

Once the glue is dry and the clothespin is secure, the frame is complete and ready to be displayed...

I mentioned my obsession, so of course I had to make more...

If part of the pattern isn't working for you, just go over it with more paper. This canvas evolved into this...

And then there is this one...

It got a bee sticker and a nice quote...

This project is simple and fun and would be great to do with the kids. Or, why not have the girls over for a craft party?
