St. Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin

In October, my husband and I traveled to Ireland
to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.
One of the highlights was visiting
St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin.

It was founded in 1191
and is the largest church in Ireland.
 After much deterioration,
Benjamin  Guinness, father of Arthur Guinness,
paid for reconstruction in the 1800's.
A statue of Benjamin sits on the grounds of the cathedral.
Magnificent is not a word I use often,
but in the case of this church it is appropriate!

If you are fortunate enough to visit Ireland,
St. Patrick's Cathedral is a must see!

  1. Places like this are why I'd like to visit Ireland some day. Cathedrals and abbeys and castles are what I like about England. And yes, magnificent is an apt description of that cathedral.

  2. So pretty! Lucky you to get to see it in person! I'm still stunned over someone having enough money to pay to renovate that Cathedral. Guess the beer business is goooooood!!! LOL!
