Tin Tile Tree

Back in October, I went with a couple of friends
to The Chapel Market in Pike Road, Alabama.
This vintage market was great!
However, we got there late in the day
and missed a lot of the really great stuff.
One of my few purchases was this set of 4 tin tiles...
I purchased the tiles from
I've held on to them trying to decide what to do with them.
Usually when I put things away until I decide what to do with them, I end up not being able to find them. Then when I run across them, I forget what I was going to do with them!!!
But, this time, I kept them in plain view!
I decided that the 6" tiles would be the perfect size
to paint on and use in Christmas decor.

I double loaded my brush with 2 shades of brown
to paint a tree trunk and branches...

I added some green...

and, finished it off with some red dots for ornaments...

I love the simplicity of the tree.

Did you go to The Chapel Market?
If you go next year, get there early!

  10. Oh, I love your painted tin, I spotted it over at I should be Mopping the floor, I was posting a Gingerbread recipe. However, you might like my latest post on my blog, I didn't link it up but it is about the patina of old wood. It's amazing how once we would have thrown away anything worn and chipped but now we are using it to enhance our homes :)
