What Lurks Below...The Tale Of A Memo Board

Isn't this memo board lovely?

Well, I'm going to show you the "not so pretty" truth
about how I put her together.

It all started here,
with this print I bought at a yard sale for $5.
The print was faded, but I loved the frame!

I decided to turn it into a fabric covered memo board.
I took the picture out of the frame.
I cut fabric a few inches larger than the glass.

Now, here's where it turns ugly.

I laid the glass from the picture down on the fabric.
Using duct tape, I started taping the fabric to the back of the glass.
Once I had the fabric tape down,
I started taping jute to the back and
wrapping it around the glass.

And, here's what lurks beneath the lovely memo board...
 ...a hideous mess!

Now, to hide the mess...

I placed the fabric covered glass back into the frame.

I placed the foam core from the original picture
back into the frame and secured it to the frame
with a framing gun.
Whew! The mess is hidden!
No one will ever know.
Well, unless they read my blog.

I added some mini clothespins...

...and it's ready for appointment cards, pictures, or notes.

Shhh...
don't tell anyone what is hidden behind this beauty!
