The Peacock Porch, Part Two

Last year I shared how I decorated my front porch with a peacock theme. You can see that post HERE.
Here are a few of the pictures from that post...

This year I had a new addition to my porch.
I bought an old spinning wheel at an estate sale...

It is from around 1800 and came out of a house in New Hampshire and somehow made its way to Georgia. I think I got a pretty good deal on it at $75.
To go with my peacock theme, I used floral wire and added some branches cut from my Christmas tree and then added peacock feathers to the spokes...

I think it made a nice addition to my porch.
There was just one problem... every time it rained I had to run out and move it into the house. It is over 200 years old, after all, and I was afraid it would get ruined!
It figures that we have had a serious drought until I put something outside that can't get wet!!!

  11. Just popped in from The Answer is Chocolate. The evergreen boughs go so nicely with the peacock feathers, not a combination I would have ever considered before. I think you got a great deal on your spinning wheel!
