Vintage Kitchen Vignet

The focal point of my kitchen is a display area
above my cook top...
I have it filled with vintage items that I have acquired over the years. And the best part is that I didn't pay a lot of money to create my display.

I paid $12 for this old scale at an antique store...

One of my favorite purchases...
this vintage waffle maker! I paid $2.50 for it at an antique store that was going out of business...

And, from that same store, I bought this beautiful old oil painting for $7...

The meat grinder was a gift from a friend...

The most expensive item in my display isn't even old! It's a reproduction grain box that I bought years ago at Scott Antique Market. I can't remember exactly how much I paid for it, but I think it was around $20. I love the color!

And, then there is this sweet little silver tea canister that I purchased at a yard sale for $1...

So, I achieved the look I wanted for under $50. That's a lot of "good stuff" for not too much money!

  2. What a nice display. I love the legs on the waffle maker! We have a meat grinder like that one. We use it to grind cooked chicken for our chicken salad.
